Product description

We wanted this dictionary to fill a gap in Arab narratives to provide researchers and students with a working tool that clarifies what is obscure and keeps pace with what is new in this broad field that has, since a few years ago, become prominent in literary and non-literary studies. Perhaps this surge has contributed to elevating narratives to a high position in the Arab cultural field. Creating such a dictionary required time and effort from a group of specialized researchers who believe in the importance of caring for terminology in the field of narration, care that helps to uncover mysteries and resist fluctuation and disorder. It also required cooperation from a group of publishers from different Arab countries who believed that publishing and promoting such work simultaneously among Arabic readers contributes to achieving an important goal: transcendence, unification, and keeping pace. It is a transcendence of previous attempts, a unification of what has been used in different ways without scrutiny and interaction, and also a keeping pace with what Western critics and researchers have reached in narrative terminology.
