Product description

A documentary novel written because of a brief report presented on one of the news channels after the conclusion of the London Olympics 2012, and the Italian writer Giuseppe Catotcila watched it by chance. It was just a coincidence, but he found himself in Somalia searching for and inspecting any information that could benefit his literary work and increase his knowledge of its heroine, the Somali runner (Samia), Samia Youssef Omar. War took much from her, but it did not allow her to steal her childhood dream, and she fought until the end... The writer Giuseppe Catotcila responded to the reason for choosing Samia to write about: I was in 2012 at the border between Somalia and Kenya, during the last days of the Olympic Games, when I heard through a news channel a brief story about this girl who aspired to participate in running competitions and reach my country to achieve her goal. I was Italian and living at that time near her city, and the girl was Somali, and she wanted to reach my country. I arrived there by plane, but her journey took 18 months. I did not decide to write the novel "Don’t Say You’re Afraid," but I was forced to write it.
