Product description
The Arab reader - especially - when hearing the phrase Russian literature, is taken by a different style of writing that weaves him into unique beauty, and topics drawn from deep human roots. Writing made its glory by great names who preserved the status of Russian literature among world literatures and influenced it. Here, we specifically address the Arab reader, as the European, American, or advanced Asian reader, due to the active translation movement in their country, has been following Russian literature since its classical origins, passing through its middle (Soviet) stage, up to its current state, and is familiar with its schools, representatives, and pioneers. This is unlike the Arab reader, whose translation movement (and we say movement by way of exaggeration) is modest in his country, and his knowledge of Russian literature stops at the nineteenth century and the dawn of the twentieth century, through translations mostly funded by the Soviet state and those within its orbit.
