Product description

The Temple of Dawn is the third novel from Mishima's rare and exemplary masterpiece, in world literature altogether, the "Sea of Fertility" tetralogy. And as in "Spring Snow" and "The Running Dogs," we find that the hero is nothing but the first hero himself, but after his transition through reincarnation, to begin a new cycle of existence, and for Honda alone to know the bond that connects the heroes of the tetralogy, through two specific elements: three moles carried by all the heroes, and a set of wondrous dreams. Mishima is certain that his tetralogy is the point of arrival for everything he has learned as a writer. He drew his friends' attention to the fact that when he finished writing it, he would have only one thing left to do: "suicide" — and that indeed happened.
