Product description

Millenium girl who is not loved by men, the most famous Swedish novelist Stieg Larsson, who places his books in the category of global detective literature. In this novel, Larsson introduces us to the world of mysterious crime filled with elements of suspense and surprises in a world that blends reality with imagination, leaving the reader the opportunity to search for the elements of the crime with more enjoyment and excitement. The novel begins with a verdict issued against journalist Mikael Blomkvist from Millenium magazine, sentencing him to ninety days in prison for committing a crime of defamation against businessman Hans-Erik Wennerström. Blomkvist had written an article claiming that Wennerström had misused state treasury funds allocated for industrial investment and had made arms deals from Poland. However, this sentence would not be enforced immediately. Meanwhile, the journalist receives a task assigned to him by an old man who wants to know, before he dies, who killed the girl he cared for and who disappeared under mysterious circumstances forty years ago. He had no children and considered her his daughter, and he was very distressed when she disappeared. Thus, the journalist’s work was difficult. He had nothing to uncover the secret except looking at those photos that covered the wall of his house. In the meantime, the journalist moves to a secluded house in a distant village and tries to accomplish what Julius could not do in his research... The events of the novel continue, moving to the city, where the second character in the novel appears, named Elizabeth, the girl with a dragon tattoo on her back. Here, the plot takes a turn, launching the criminal investigation with more confusion and fantasies that the novelist places in the reader’s mind. Elizabeth belongs to a wealthy bourgeois family, but her guardian, a sadistic and savage man, imposes immoral acts on her whenever she goes to ask him for money. She thinks of a plan, enters his house this time, and shocks him with an electric device, causing him to faint. When he wakes up, he finds himself tied up and naked, and here the perpetrator becomes the victim... When Elizabeth joins the journalist and begins to assist him, they progress in their investigations. They connect the disappearance of the girl with the disappearance and murder of several women in different places. They discovered that the previous victims were Jewish or had Jewish names... So, can the journalist identify the real perpetrator? And is the case of the missing girl with the picture related? That is what we will discover together as we read a breath-taking novel until the last pages...
