The Pearl Song

About the publications of Al-Jamal, the Arabic version, for the poetry collection "Ode of the Pearl" by the Polish poet who won the Nobel Prize in Literature for 1980, Czesław Miłosz, translated and introduced by Hatim Janabi. "I took the pearl and set out on my way back to my father’s house. I removed from my body their dirty and impure clothes, leaving them behind on their land. And so I headed to be able to directly reach the light of our shining homeland. The message that awakened me flew in front of me, and just as it awakened me earlier with its voice, now it guided me with its bright light before my eyes, and with its voice, it calmed my reassurance and encouraged me with its love."
