The fall of the angel

In the fourth volume titled "The Fall of the Angel," Mishima concludes his monumental tetralogy, "The Sea of Fertility," with the confrontation of Honda himself, who stands as a witness to all endings, and the end of the great cycle of reincarnation within the Jisho Temple, where Satoko, the heroine of "Spring Snow," meets again after aging. "The Fall of the Angel" was written after Mishima made the decision to commit suicide. Therefore, it reflects his philosophy and worldview in a more full and vibrant manner than any of his hundred works, which Mishima left us in thirty-six volumes containing his complete works.
