My life

He said "Taha Hussein" about this wonderful biography of one of the most important symbols of the modern Arab renaissance: "If Ahmed Amin is not an excellent example of productive diligence, abundant activity, perseverance that knows no fatigue or boredom, resistance that knows no weakness or lassitude, and confidence that knows no doubt or hesitation, then Egyptians should not expect an excellent example from any other citizen." And he said about it Ahmed Hassan Al-Zayyat: "It combines good idea and beauty of image, and harmonizes between the seriousness of meaning and the solidity of expression. Perhaps this is most evident in his book 'My Life,' for his depiction of the house, the water carrier, the speaker, the writers, and Al-Azhar, and in his description of his parents and brothers, and his friends Abdel Hakim Mohamed and Ali Fawzi, and his teachers Atef Berrakat and Mr. Borr, as models of the printed eloquence that shines with the light of the mind, pulses with the spirit of emotion, and boasts with the colors of art."
