Eeva Luna

My name is Eva Luna and it means life. The novel Eva Luna by Isabel Allende was issued in a new elegant edition with a translation by Saleh Alamani from Dar Al-Adab as part of distinguished translated novels that include a number of Allende's works and many translations of Latin American literature. A brief about the novel Eva Luna Eva Luna, the heroine of this captivating book, is an orphan girl working as a maid, trading her material poverty for the richness of her imagination. She loves storytelling and turns her life into a tragicomedy in which she presents a surprising array of characters: embalmed corpses, a frightening midwife, and a woman with a man's body... With sweetness and superb literary craftsmanship, Isabel Allende presents her characters' fate as an integral part of the collective destiny of a continent marked by social injustice and the search for its own identity. Quotes from Eva Luna Death does not exist, my daughter; people only die when they are forgotten. So if you can remember me, I will always be with you.
