Magnesium sulfate

Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate (Epsom salt) is a source of the elements magnesium and sulfur in a water-soluble form. Magnesium is the central atom of the chlorophyll molecule and therefore important in the process of photosynthesis. Magnesium is also important in protein synthesis and enzyme activity, and it helps plants absorb and use phosphorus and nitrogen. Sulfur is one of the components of amino acids and proteins.
