Product description

When I met the dear brother Jassim Al-Jassim more than twenty years ago, I was not impressed by what this man carried of capabilities and talents. When I approached him and worked with him in the economic section of Al-Youm newspaper, I discovered a number of good qualities such as kindness, humility, love for people, and love for serving them. After years of relationship, work, give and take, I conducted a journalistic interview with him, published in Al-Khat magazine and some electronic sites. I observed a number of other qualities that this man possesses: he is multi-talented, has diverse interests, worked as a soldier, journalist, actor, and writer, is loyal in government circles, works in one of the oil extraction companies, is the director of Al-Youm newspaper office in Al-Ahsa, and director of a health center in Dammam. He has not left a profession he has not worked in amidst the daily life battles. Despite that, you find him patient, tolerant, smiling, loving goodness and the community. This man (for those who do not know him) has been subjected to difficult and severe life trials: first, losing his brother, his lifelong companion; second, the death of his wife and children in one hour before his eyes; and losing one of his dearest daughters. Then came illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, and strokes that affected him at certain times, making him unable to move. But his will was not paralyzed, nor did it weaken or stop. You find him optimistic, eager to overcome crises, and creative and writing... for him, writing is the secret of life. He is the writer, journalist, and artist Jassim bin Ali Al-Jassim. I did not intend to publish a book about him, as I am not used to writing about anyone unless some friends, lovers of this man, asked me to turn the experience of "Jassim Al-Jassim" which I documented in my journalistic interview with him into a publication that benefits the new generation, with additions and modifications where possible, and seeking the opinions of some of Jassim’s colleagues and friends. One of them (who refused to be named) volunteered to print this edition. I saw no choice but to publish this book, which I hope will be useful for future generations, so they can learn from the experiences of those who came before them, stories of those who suffered in the struggles of life, and perhaps find some lessons, experiences, and advice that can assist them in their lives... But honestly, I say that those who examine this man's experiences find many meanings: patience, ambition, diversity, perhaps anxiety and contradiction, kindness, and maybe naivety.
