2021 in the picture.. and the comment

Editor-in-Chief's Word "No matter how long people's lives and works are, they remain short, and only their actions are the determinant of the duration of their impact, whether in people's memory or in history, which in turn will transfer the impact to the memory of future generations. For those who lead among humans, a special place is reserved in the memory of time, and their actions are preserved to remain points of light illuminating the path for those who come after."⁣ With these words, I opened my first issue since taking over the editorial leadership at "National Geographic Arabic" magazine in 2013. Now, after publishing one hundred issues and issue (101), my decision to leave has come, and I am fully convinced that I have followed a path that leaves an impact worth telling; which makes me look today with pride and honor at those days and years that have passed. I and the team have succeeded in elevating our magazine to its deserved place in the intellectual circles of the Arab region.⁣ During the last two weeks of 2021, we organized the first photography exhibition for National Geographic Arabic photographers; and because impact is the only true remaining after the events and personalities fade, we are proud today of establishing a database that includes more than a thousand Arab photographers belonging to the National Geographic Arabic family, whose works have continuously fed our digital platforms, which now have 6.5 million followers. The magazine's website — in its new look — has attracted more than two million visitors. This, in addition to our first beach camp for magazine lovers, a project we worked on for a long time with the goal of transferring knowledge and science to young people and inspiring them to preserve the planet Earth.⁣ I leave the position of editor-in-chief carrying in my heart a biography full of effort, perseverance, and achievements, as God blessed me with an aura of success, brilliance, and beauty that has followed me wherever I have traveled and settled. And here I am today joining you, our loyal readers, as a reader like you, but with a deep awareness that behind every word and image are tremendous efforts, unlimited love, and a keen desire to ensure this content reaches every reader in the most beautiful form.⁣ I leave with a longing in my heart for every person in my small team, with whom our relationship has become like a family.⁣ I start 2022 with pride and honor for this rich legacy I have been entrusted with for eight years; and today, as I hand over the key to this treasure to my successor, I am filled with hope that the future will be undoubtedly better.⁣ All appreciation to my wonderful team… to those strong hands and loving hearts that laid the foundation upon which "National Geographic Arabic" magazine now moves.
