How to measure your blood sugar level

• Wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Warming your finger can sometimes help increase blood flow.
• Insert the test strip into your meter.
• Use the needle to prick the tip of your finger.
• Gently press and/or massage the tip of your finger until a circular drop of blood forms in your fingertip.
• Align the test strip with the blood drop and then gently touch the strip to the edge of the blood drop
• The meter will show your blood sugar level on the screen within seconds
