Place such that the overlapping edges of the sticky material are smoothed down, so they stick to the surrounding skin. Do not apply pressure over the wound, seal the ends so that it is properly packed. Change bandages daily, when wet, or more often if needed. To remove it, loosen one side and pull off quickly.
