Product description
The Grandstream GWN7630LR is a long-range outdoor 802.11ac Wave-2 access point with up to 300 m of coverage and room for 250+ clients. Rated IP66 and up to 60°C, it suits warehouse yards, school grounds, rest houses and farms.
====
The Grandstream GWN7630LR is a long-range outdoor access point that reaches up to 300 m and serves more than 250 clients at once. It runs 802.11ac Wave-2 with 4x4:4 radios on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz inside an IP66-rated housing. It is the unit to look at when Wi-Fi dies at the warehouse door, or when a rest house needs signal across the garden and the outdoor majlis.
Grandstream GWN7630LR at a glance
From Grandstream's official datasheet:
- Up to 300 m of coverage, depending on the site.
- 250+ concurrent clients.
- 2.33 Gbps combined: up to 1733 Mbps on 5 GHz and 600 Mbps on 2.4 GHz.
- Four detachable omnidirectional antennas, 3.5 dBi each.
- Two Gigabit Ethernet ports and a 16.5 W maximum draw over PoE+.
Built for heat, dust and rain
Operating temperature runs from -30 to 60°C, with 5 to 95% humidity. The housing is rated IP66 when mounted vertically, meaning it is dust-tight and protected against strong water jets. That makes it a fit for a school yard wall in Dammam or a pole on a farm in Qassim.
Antennas you can change
The four dual-band antennas are external and detachable. Grandstream presents this as a way to adapt the AP to different deployments, whether that is an open yard, a long aisle between racks or a perimeter fence around a large plot.
One cable, no separate controller
A single network run from an 802.3at PoE+ switch carries both power and data, which matters outdoors where a power outlet is rarely close by. The AP switches between PoE and PoE+ modes automatically.
Its web interface includes a controller for up to 50 GWN series APs, so indoor and outdoor units on one site are set up from the same screen. For multiple sites, Grandstream offers free cloud management with no cap on the number of APs. Mesh links reach distant points without cabling, and captive portals, VLANs and QoS are supported.
Typical sites in Saudi Arabia
- Warehouse yards and loading docks, keeping handheld scanners and inventory devices online.
- Schools, covering playgrounds and outdoor courts.
- Rest houses and farms: outdoor seating, pool and garden areas.
- Hospitals and residential compounds: walkways and parking areas.
Security and compatibility
Encryption covers WPA/WPA2-PSK and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, backed by signed secure boot and a unique certificate and random password per device. Any Wi-Fi client from 802.11a to 802.11ac can join, and Grandstream positions the AP for voice over Wi-Fi with its own Wi-Fi phones.
GWN7630LR or GWN7630?
Both use the same 4x4:4 radio, 2.33 Gbps throughput, dual Gigabit ports and 16.5 W draw. The GWN7630LR is the outdoor model: IP66, external detachable 3.5 dBi antennas, 300 m range, 250+ clients, -30 to 60°C, and pole or wall mounting. The GWN7630 is the indoor ceiling or wall unit, with internal antennas, 175 m range, 200+ clients, a 0 to 40°C operating range, three status LEDs and a Kensington lock slot.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the GWN7630LR weatherproof?
Yes. It is rated IP66 when mounted vertically and operates from -30 to 60°C.
What range does the GWN7630LR cover?
Up to 300 m per Grandstream; obstacles, walls and interference reduce the real-world figure.
How do I power it outdoors?
Over the network cable from an 802.3at PoE+ switch or injector, with a 16.5 W maximum draw.
