Product description

The Uniview NSW2020-10T-POE-IN is a fanless NSW2020-series switch with ten 100 Mbps ports, eight of them PoE on an 88W budget. It is a practical fit for straightforward CCTV systems in shops and villas that do not need gigabit speed.

====

The Uniview NSW2020-10T-POE-IN solves a common installer dilemma: you want eight PoE ports at a sensible cost, and the camera streams do not need gigabit. It has ten 100 Mbps ports, eight with PoE on an 88W budget, no fan and a weight of just 0.29 kg. EXTEND mode adds 250 m reach for distant cameras.

Specifications

This unmanaged switch comes from Uniview's (UNV) NSW2020 series. Key figures:

  • 10 × 100 Mbps RJ45 ports, 8 of them PoE.
  • 88W total PoE budget, up to 30W per port, 802.3at/af in Mode B.
  • 2 Gbps switching capacity, 1.49 Mpps forwarding and a 1K MAC table.
  • 48/51V DC from an external 100 to 240V adapter, 94W maximum draw.

Priority ports and the PoE-MAX LED

Ports 1 and 2 have power priority. If total demand hits the limit, devices on those ports keep running first, so put your gate and entrance cameras there. The PoE-MAX LED stays off below 80% of the budget and turns solid above 85%. It tells the installer the switch is near its ceiling before another camera gets added.

Silent, small and rated to 45°C

With no fan, it makes no noise at all. It measures 171 × 103 × 25 mm and is rated for operation up to 45°C, five degrees higher than the NSW2010 models. Still, keep it shaded and ventilated. It is also NDAA compliant.

When is 100 Mbps enough?

Each port easily carries one camera. The real limit is the uplink to the NVR, which is also 100 Mbps. Add up the bitrate of every camera from its settings, and if the total stays under 100 Mbps, this switch fits. Many 4K cameras, or a network that moves large files, call for a gigabit switch. With two non-PoE ports, the NVR can take one and the router the other.

Typical Saudi installations

  • A shop or grocery: cashier, aisle and back-store cameras.
  • A single-floor villa or apartment: entrance and courtyard cameras plus the NVR.
  • An istiraha: EXTEND mode reaches a gate camera 200 m away.
  • A small office: cameras and IP phones on one switch in default mode.
  • A dental clinic or salon: reception, corridor and entrance cameras.

Compatibility and modes

Any camera, access point or IP phone that follows 802.3af or 802.3at will work. Power is delivered in Mode B on pins 4, 5, 7 and 8, and standard PoE devices accept either mode. Default mode lets every port communicate, while EXTEND stretches runs to 250 m. Unlike the NSW2010 series, this model has no VLAN mode.

Uniview NSW2020-10T-POE-IN or NSW2010-10GT-POE-IN?

Both have eight PoE ports and two extra ports. The NSW2010-10GT-POE-IN is gigabit, with a 120W budget, direct AC power, a VLAN mode and one fan. The NSW2020-10T-POE-IN runs at 100 Mbps with 88W, has no fan, tolerates 45°C and has defined priority ports. Choose the NSW2020 for a simple camera system, and the gigabit model for high-resolution cameras or when the switch also carries office traffic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 100 Mbps on the NSW2020-10T-POE-IN enough for cameras?

Yes, if the combined bitrate of all cameras stays under 100 Mbps, since the NVR uplink runs at the same speed. For many 4K cameras, choose a gigabit switch.

What are ports 1 and 2 for?

They have power priority, so devices on them stay powered first when total draw reaches the limit.

Does it use a power adapter?

Yes. It runs on 48/51V DC from an external adapter rated for 100 to 240V input.
