Product description

The Grandstream GWN7665 is an indoor Wi-Fi 6E access point with three 2x2:2 radios on 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz, delivering 5.4 Gbps of combined wireless throughput. It serves up to 384 clients over a 2.5G uplink, adds built-in Bluetooth and suits offices where 5GHz is congested and newer devices support Wi-Fi 6E.

====

The Grandstream GWN7665 is the Wi-Fi 6E model in the GWN7600 family, adding a 6GHz band to the usual 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Each band runs 2x2:2, combined wireless throughput is 5.4 Gbps, and the AP serves up to 384 clients across a range of up to 175 meters. The idea is simple: newer devices that support Wi-Fi 6E move to 6GHz, which frees up 5GHz for everything else.

What 6GHz adds to the Grandstream GWN7665

In a busy office tower, your 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels overlap with every neighboring company's network. Only Wi-Fi 6E and newer devices use 6GHz, so the band offers cleaner channels and lower latency for video meetings.

  • 6GHz: up to 2403 Mbps with 160MHz channels.
  • 5GHz: up to 2402 Mbps with 160MHz channels.
  • 2.4GHz: up to 573.5 Mbps.
  • 384 concurrent clients.

Older devices never touch 6GHz, so 2.4GHz and 5GHz stay fully available to them and nothing on your network needs replacing. As the company refreshes laptops and phones, more of the load shifts to the new band.

2.5G uplink and PoE+ power

The GWN7665 has one 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps port and one gigabit port. Connect the 2.5G port to a multi-gigabit switch so traffic from all three radios reaches the wired network without a bottleneck. Power comes over 802.3at PoE. If your current switch is gigabit only, the AP runs on it fine until you upgrade.

Built-in Bluetooth and dedicated antennas

Inside are 7 antennas: two for each Wi-Fi band and a seventh for Bluetooth.

Who should choose the GWN7665

  • Offices in Riyadh and Jeddah towers where 5GHz is crowded by neighboring networks.
  • Design and media teams moving large files from new 6GHz-capable laptops.
  • Companies refreshing their devices that want the network ready for Wi-Fi 6E now.

Management and security

The embedded controller manages up to 50 Grandstream APs, while GDMS Networking offers free cloud management across branches and GWN Manager handles up to 3,000 APs on premises. Security includes secure boot, a per-device certificate, a random default password and WPA3.

GWN7665 or GWN7662?

Both share the same 205.3 x 205.3 x 45.9 mm, 540 g housing, the same 2.5G plus gigabit ports and the same 175 m range. The GWN7662 is dual-band and puts its muscle into a 4x4:4 5GHz radio (up to 4804 Mbps), serving 256 clients at 16 W. The GWN7665 spreads 2x2:2 across three bands, serves 384 clients and adds Bluetooth. If most of your devices support Wi-Fi 6E, take the GWN7665; if they are Wi-Fi 5 or 6, the GWN7662 is the better match.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do all devices benefit from 6GHz?

No. Only Wi-Fi 6E and newer devices use 6GHz; everything else connects on 2.4GHz or 5GHz as usual.

How many clients does the GWN7665 support?

Up to 384 concurrent clients.

Does the GWN7665 need a power adapter?

None is included. It runs on 802.3at PoE from a switch or injector.
