Product description
The Grandstream GXP2170 tops the GXP2100 range with 12 line keys, 6 SIP accounts and 48 BLF keys on a 4.3-inch color display, plus support for up to 4 GXP2200EXT modules. It is aimed at switchboard operators, receptionists and executive offices handling heavy call volumes.
====
The Grandstream GXP2170 is the largest phone in the GXP2100 series, and Grandstream positions it for users with high call volumes. It packs 12 line keys, 6 SIP accounts and 48 BLF keys on a 4.3-inch color screen, and it accepts up to 4 GXP2200EXT modules for as many as 160 contacts. Think of the switchboard operator at a hospital or hotel, the reception desk of an office tower, or an office manager who follows the entire executive floor.
Grandstream GXP2170 specifications
- 12 dual-color line keys and 6 SIP accounts.
- 48 programmable on-screen BLF/speed-dial keys.
- 4.3-inch TFT color display, 480x272.
- Two 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports with integrated IEEE 802.3af PoE.
- Built-in Bluetooth, USB and an RJ9 headset jack with EHS.
- 5-way audio conferencing and a 2000-entry phonebook.
12 lines for a switchboard desk
When calls arrive in the same minute, each one appears on its own line key, so you can answer, hold and transfer without dropping anyone. The 12 keys run across 6 SIP accounts, which lets every department keep its own number and tells you where a call is from before you pick up.
From 48 to 160 extensions in view
The screen shows 48 BLF keys, each reporting an extension as idle, ringing or busy. For larger sites, add GXP2200EXT modules: each has 20 keys over 2 pages and its own display, up to 4 chained units and 160 contacts. A hospital operator in Riyadh can see every ward and clinic from one desk this way.
Paired with a Grandstream UCM
The datasheet lists ZeroConfig provisioning and one-touch call recording when the GXP2170 runs on a UCM system. On any other platform it uses standard SIP (RFC3261), with hot desking, server fail-over and mass provisioning through TR-069 or an AES-encrypted XML file.
Power and connectivity
Draw is 5.4 W on its own and up to 9.2 W with 4 GXP2200EXT modules, so a standard 802.3af PoE switch handles it, and a 12 V, 1 A adapter comes in the box. Bluetooth covers wireless headsets and contact or calendar sync from your mobile, USB handles data import and export, and Plantronics headsets work with EHS.
Typical uses in Saudi Arabia
- Switchboard operators at hospitals, universities and government entities.
- Front desks at large hotels in Makkah and Madinah.
- Reception counters in office towers and commercial complexes.
- Office managers who follow the full executive team.
GXP2170 or GXP2140?
Both accept up to 4 GXP2200EXT modules and share the 4.3-inch screen. The GXP2170 starts with 12 line keys, 6 accounts and 48 BLF keys, while the GXP2140 has 4 lines, 4 accounts and no BLF keys. Choose the GXP2170 for a desk that handles dozens of calls a day, and the GXP2140 if your main need is a big screen with expansion later.
