Product description
The Grandstream GWN7822P is a Layer 3 multi-gigabit managed switch with 8 × 2.5G and 16 × 1G PoE ports, four 10G SFP+ slots and a 360W budget. It suits offices, hotels and schools deploying access points with 2.5G uplinks.
====
The Grandstream GWN7822P is a Layer 3 multi-gigabit managed switch with 24 PoE ports, of which 8 run at 2.5G and 16 at 1G, plus four 10G SFP+ slots and a 360W PoE budget. It is aimed at sites rolling out newer access points with 2.5G uplinks, where a Gigabit port would cap what the access point can deliver.
Why the GWN7822P has 2.5G ports
Modern Wi-Fi access points can move more traffic than a single Gigabit link carries, so many now ship with a 2.5G Ethernet port. Plug one into a Gigabit switch and it is held to 1G. The GWN7822P gives you 8 ports at 2.5G over standard RJ45 copper cabling.
- 8 × 2.5G and 16 × 1G ports, all PoE, IEEE 802.3af/at/bt.
- Ports 17 to 24 up to 60W; ports 1 to 16 up to 30W.
- 4 × 10G SFP+ slots.
- 152Gbps switching capacity, 113.088Mpps forwarding rate.
Power: 360W budget and a backup input
An integrated 420W supply (54V / 7.78A) provides a total PoE budget of 360W. For sites that cannot afford downtime, the switch accepts the optional RPS-300W-B external supply (300W), the same unit used with the GWN7813P, so a mixed deployment needs only one spare part type.
SFP+ uplinks to the core
The four SFP+ slots take single-mode or multimode 10G fiber modules, DAC cables up to 5 m, or up to two RJ45-10G modules fitted in alternate slots. Use fiber when the core switch sits on another floor, and a short DAC cable when it shares the rack.
Layer 3 routing between separate networks
The switch routes between VLANs on its own using static routes (32 each for IPv4 and IPv6) or RIP, OSPF and BGP, and hands out addresses with its DHCP server. It supports 1588 PTP for precise time sync, IGMP snooping to keep camera video streams in check, and 2K ACL entries to control who reaches what.
Management and security
Manage it from the web UI or CLI, add it to GDMS Networking in the cloud or GWN Manager on-premise, or run it from a Grandstream GWN router alongside the rest of your network. Security includes 802.1X, RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication, ARP inspection, IP source guard and DHCP snooping, backed by dual boot and dual system files.
Where the GWN7822P fits in Saudi Arabia
- Corporate offices upgrading Wi-Fi: access points on the 2.5G ports, phones and printers on the Gigabit ports.
- Conference halls and hotels: dense Wi-Fi for many devices at once.
- Schools and universities: classrooms full of tablets on Wi-Fi at the same time.
- Smart warehouses: high-speed access points plus PTZ cameras on the 60W ports.
GWN7822P or GWN7813P?
Both have 24 PoE ports, 4 SFP+ slots and take the RPS-300W-B. The GWN7822P adds 8 ports at 2.5G, 152Gbps switching capacity and a 360W budget, with 60W on ports 17 to 24. The GWN7813P is all Gigabit, with 128Gbps capacity, a 370W budget and 60W on ports 1 to 8. Choose the GWN7822P when your access points have 2.5G uplinks.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many 2.5G ports does the GWN7822P have?
Eight 2.5G ports and sixteen Gigabit ports, all with PoE, plus four 10G SFP+ slots.
Which ports deliver 60W?
Per Grandstream's specs, ports 17 to 24 deliver up to 60W and ports 1 to 16 up to 30W, within a 360W total budget.
Does it support backup power?
Yes. It accepts the optional RPS-300W-B external supply (300W), the same unit used with the GWN7813P.
