Product description

The Grandstream GWN7801P is the 8-port PoE model in the GWN7800 Layer 2+ managed switch family, with two 1G SFP uplinks. It fits small offices, branches and villas that want phones, access points and cameras powered and segmented from a single box.

====

The Grandstream GWN7801P is the entry point to Grandstream's GWN7800 Layer 2+ managed switch family when you need PoE. It packs 8 Gigabit PoE/PoE+ ports sharing one power budget, plus 2 Gigabit SFP slots for fiber uplinks. Picture a small office with a handful of IP phones, a branch with two ceiling access points, or a villa with cameras at the gate: eight powered ports cover it without paying for capacity you will not use.

Grandstream GWN7801P key specs

  • 8 × 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, all PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at)
  • Up to 30W per port
  • 2 × 1G SFP slots
  • 20 Gbps switching capacity and 14.88 Mpps forwarding rate
  • 8K MAC address table and jumbo frames up to 10,240 bytes

Smart PoE that follows real demand

Power is allocated per port according to what each device actually draws, so a 5W phone does not reserve 30W of the budget. PoE schedules in the web UI let you switch ports off on a timetable, for example shutting office access points down after working hours and bringing them back in the morning. Before installing, add up the maximum rated draw of your devices and keep the total within the switch's PoE budget.

VLANs and QoS keep voice clean

This is where a managed switch earns its place. Split the network into up to 4K VLANs: one for phones, one for cameras, one for guest Wi-Fi, so visitors never see office devices. Voice VLAN drops IP phones into their own segment automatically, and QoS queue scheduling keeps call audio ahead of large downloads. Security covers 802.1X, RADIUS and TACACS+, loop protection, ARP inspection and DHCP snooping. With 32 IPv4 and 32 IPv6 static routes, the switch can also handle basic routing between VLANs.

Manage it locally or from the cloud

Use the built-in web interface, Grandstream's GDMS Networking cloud platform, or the on-premise GWN Manager software. GWN routers can manage it as well. If you run several branches, every switch shows up in one dashboard instead of separate logins.

Typical installs in Saudi Arabia

  • Small offices in Riyadh or Jeddah: IP phones plus one or two access points.
  • Two-floor villas: an access point per floor and cameras covering the gate and courtyard.
  • Retail branches and pharmacies: point-of-sale terminals and CCTV on separate VLANs.
  • Istirahas and farms: link an outbuilding to the main house over fiber through an SFP slot.

Installation and environment

The unit weighs 2 kg. It sits on a desk, mounts on a wall, or goes into a 19-inch rack with the extended rack kit included in the box. The 150W power supply is built in and accepts 100-240V AC, and the switch runs from 0 to 45°C.

GWN7801P or GWN7802P?

Both run the same Layer 2+ software; the difference is size. The GWN7801P has 8 PoE+ ports, 2 SFP slots and 20 Gbps switching capacity. The GWN7802P doubles that to 16 PoE+ ports, 4 SFP slots and 40 Gbps. Eight devices or fewer: the GWN7801P is enough. Expecting growth soon: step up to the GWN7802P.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the GWN7801P need an external power adapter?

No. The 150W power supply is built in, and a 1.2 m AC power cable comes in the box.

How many PoE devices can it run?

Up to 8, as long as their combined draw stays within the switch's PoE budget and no single device needs more than 30W.

Can I manage it remotely?

Yes. Use Grandstream's GDMS Networking cloud platform or the on-premise GWN Manager software, in addition to the local web UI.
