Grandstream GWN7670WM In-Wall Wi-Fi 7 Access Point, 3.6 Gbps

Product description

The Grandstream GWN7670WM is an in-wall dual-band Wi-Fi 7 access point with 3.6 Gbps aggregate throughput and room for 256 clients. At 150 x 106 mm and powered over PoE through a 2.5G port, it suits hotel rooms, serviced apartments, villa bedrooms and small offices.

====

The Grandstream GWN7670WM tackles the classic room-by-room coverage problem. Instead of one corridor AP whose signal fades behind doors and concrete, you mount a compact unit on the wall of each room. It is the in-wall member of the GWN7600 Wi-Fi 7 range: dual-band, 3.6 Gbps aggregate, up to 256 clients, in a housing just 150 x 106 x 34.1 mm.

Grandstream GWN7670WM specifications

Small as it is, it matches the ceiling-mount GWN7670 on speed:

  • 688 Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2882 Mbps on 5GHz with 2x2:2 MIMO.
  • Channels up to 160 MHz on 5GHz, plus MLO, 4K-QAM, MRU and Preamble Puncturing.
  • 32 SSIDs (16 per radio) and up to 256 concurrent clients.
  • 26 dBm transmit power on both bands and Bluetooth LE 5.3.

Why put an access point in every room?

Concrete walls and heavy doors, common in hotels and residential buildings, weaken 5GHz signal quickly. With the AP inside the room, the smart TV, laptop and phone sit a few meters away and actually reach Wi-Fi 7 speeds. Wall mounting also suits existing buildings, because there is no false ceiling to open.

One cable for data and power

The unit runs on 802.3af or 802.3at PoE with a 15.5 W maximum, so the network cable already running to the room from a PoE switch is enough. Its port is 2.5G, which keeps the uplink from capping Wi-Fi speeds above 1 Gbps.

Manage every room from one dashboard

Nobody wants to configure 100 hotel rooms one by one. The embedded controller manages up to 50 APs, GDMS Networking adds free cloud management with no AP limit, and GWN Manager runs on your own server. Secure boot, a random default password per unit and WPA3 cover the security side.

Installing in existing buildings

All it needs is a wall network point wired to a PoE switch; mounting kits are in the box. It serves every Wi-Fi generation from 802.11b to Wi-Fi 7, so older TVs and set-top boxes connect fine, and corridor or lobby GWN APs can be managed alongside it from the same GDMS account.

Use cases in Saudi Arabia

  • Hotel rooms in Makkah and Madinah, where each guest carries several devices.
  • Serviced apartments and residential buildings, one AP per unit with central control.
  • Two-floor villas with an annex: one unit in the majlis, others in bedrooms.
  • Clinics and small offices that prefer hardware out of the ceiling.

GWN7670WM or GWN7670?

Speed and client capacity are the same (3.6 Gbps, 256 clients). The difference is form factor and ports: the GWN7670WM is a 150 x 106 mm wall unit with one 2.5G port and 26 dBm transmit power, while the GWN7670 is a 185 x 185 mm ceiling or wall AP with two 2.5G ports and a Kensington lock slot. Go in-wall for enclosed rooms and ceiling-mount for open areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the GWN7670WM need a power adapter?

No. It is powered by 802.3af or 802.3at PoE over the network cable, drawing 15.5 W at most.

How many devices can one unit handle?

Up to 256 clients according to Grandstream, far more than a hotel room or apartment needs.
