Product description
Some benefits of tea tree oil for bacteria: Tea tree oil was used in Australia for about a hundred years in treating skin problems, and this oil is now known for its antibacterial activity; research indicates that this activity may be due to the ability of tea tree oil to damage the cell walls of bacteria.
Anti-inflammatory: Tea tree oil helps soothe inflammation; this is due to its high concentration of a compound called (Terpinen-4-ol), which has anti-inflammatory properties; studies conducted on animals indicated that this compound plays a role in inhibiting inflammatory activity in case of oral infection, and on the other hand, applying this oil to human skin helps reduce swelling associated with dermatitis caused by histamine more effectively than using paraffin oil.
Antifungal: Study results indicated that tea tree oil has the ability to eliminate many fungi and yeasts, focusing on Candida albicans, which usually affects the skin, reproductive organs, mouth, and throat, and another study showed that (Terpinen-4-ol) can enhance the activity of an antifungal called fluconazole, especially in resistant strains of Candida albicans.
Acne treatment: One study indicated that using tea tree oil helps reduce the total number and severity of acne, and another study found that using gel of tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide ointments reduces the number of pimples, but the effect was slow when using tea tree oil, and it has fewer side effects compared to benzoyl peroxide ointments.
Contact dermatitis treatment: Contact dermatitis is a form of eczema caused by contact with allergens or irritants, and study results showed that tea tree oil was more effective than other treatments in removing allergic contact dermatitis, and on the other hand, it had no effect on irritant contact dermatitis. It is worth noting that this oil can cause allergic contact dermatitis in some people.
Dandruff and cradle cap treatment: One study found that mild to moderate dandruff can be treated with tea tree oil, and using shampoo containing this oil helps improve dandruff severity, itching, and greasiness. On the other hand, one study indicated that tea tree oil shampoo was effective in treating cradle cap in children, and it is worth mentioning that the child may be allergic to this shampoo; therefore, it is recommended to apply a small amount to the forearm, then wash it with water and wait 24 to 48 hours. If no reaction occurs, then it is safe to use.
Head lice treatment: One study found that using tea tree oil was more effective in eliminating head lice compared to (Nerolidol), but this substance was more effective in killing eggs.
Oral health enhancement: Using gel containing tea tree oil may be beneficial for gingivitis; one study indicated that this gel helped reduce bleeding and inflammation, and in another study, it was found that tea tree oil combined with the active ingredient in chamomile called alpha-bisabolol can treat a type of bacteria causing bad breath.
