Product description
Although it can be provided dry, it is specially designed to be moistened. When wet, the technology used allows the grains to maintain their shape; they do not become mushy. It can be mixed with salads and pieces to balance the nutritional contribution of vegetables and fruits. It can be provided as a complete food for small and medium-sized lovebirds (such as Agapornis, Forpus, Pyrrhuras, Kakarikis, etc.). Since it is a complete diet, there are no restrictions on consumption and it can be fed as desired. During the breeding season, it can be provided moist, mixed with egg food as a moist base. Daily consumption of dry pellets can range from 10 to 18% of the animal's weight, depending on the species and environmental temperature. Preparation method It is prepared easily and very quickly. Pour the fine pellets into a bowl, add the amount of water indicated below (it can be cold water!), and leave it for 15 minutes, then stir to make it ready for serving. – If provided alone, the size ratios are: two parts of the fine pellets + one part of water. – When adding vegetables and fruits: 2 parts of the fine pellets + 1.5/2 parts water + vegetables. – If using vegetables or fruits that release a lot of liquid, you may not need to prepare the fine pellets with water, as they will be moistened by the water from the fruits and vegetables themselves. – When adding egg foods and vegetables: two parts of the fine pellets + 1.5/2 parts water + vegetables + 0.5/1 part egg food. More or less egg food should be added depending on the final condition of the mixture. Birds prefer moist food but not sticky or clumpy. We recommend that small lovebirds fed with micro pellets always have Silex Grit available. This sand will improve the proper functioning of the gizzards and the digestive system overall.
