El cero is grown on a relatively spacious farm located in Costa Rica of 2 hectares, with sandy, fertile soil rich in minerals, making it a good land for growing coffee. The farm is owned by a small family owned by Father Carlos Robles and his three sons Leo, Milian and Melvin. The family worked hard on this farm to obtain coffee of high quality and a balanced taste. It is good to mention that the family was keen to use organic fertilizers in order to help the soil to be a suitable and good environment for coffee cultivation for several years. They also made sure to plant fruit trees to prevent contamination of breeding.

This family also worked to establish its own treatment plant in the year 2000 for their complete belief that the cup is worth a lot of trouble and quality.
