Zakat al-mal

Zakat is an essential pillar of Islam, and it is a known right for the needy and the deprived. Orphans are among the most deserving categories of Zakat, and caring for them is a religious and social duty. Allah Almighty said: {Take from their wealth a charity to purify them and to sanctify them with it} [At-Tawbah: 103]. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "I and the one who cares for the orphan will be like these two in Paradise" (narrated by Al-Bukhari).
