📋 Quick facts
- Type: propolis, also known as bee glue
- Form: ready-ground powder
- Net weight: 15 g
- Source: a resin bees collect from tree buds
- Flavour: resinous and aromatic with a slight bitterness, brown in colour
- Storage: refrigerate after opening
🐝 Where propolis comes from
Bees gather this resin from tree buds and use it to seal gaps in the hive. People call it propolis or bee glue. Its brown shade and resinous flavour vary a little with the source plants. The 15 g pack arrives already ground, so there is no hard resin to crush.
🍯 Taste and how to use it
Propolis is aromatic and resinous with a slight bitterness, which is why many people stir it into honey. The easiest way:
- Put a spoonful of Sidr or wildflower honey in a small cup.
- Add a small pinch of the powder and stir.
- Let it sit for a minute, then eat it slowly.
For variety, sprinkle a little over yoghurt with a drizzle of honey, or blend it into a banana and date smoothie.
🧊 Storage
Keep the pack in the fridge door, close it well after each use and always use a dry spoon.
