Product description

From the dominance of death, Hanin, the heroine of the novel "Life in the Shadow," embarks on her dream to become a writer to face a society that rejects distinction. She fights against reality until she achieves her ambition in writing. The author gathered between the pages of the book exciting events and stories from the Ahsa community, passing through a historical period that raised several questions about the Tuwai'thir village and the large mountain surrounding it from three sides, and descriptions of some streets and villages of Al-Ahsa. The novel reflected the background of the cultural writer, her readings, and mentioned some Ahsa poets and some of their poems, including poet Jassem Al-Saheeh and Naji Al-Haraz. It also included some poetic verses written by the author herself. The writer posed several questions that sparked the reader's curiosity to find answers, including: - A comparison between Surah An-Nur and Surah Yusuf, where she said, "My grandmother used to repeat to us, teach the girls Surah An-Nur and not teach them Surah Yusuf. Why is this the word of Allah and this the word of Allah?" - Can a woman be a good mother and a good writer at the same time? - "Reading destroyed me!" How can reading destroy a person when the prevailing thought is that reading builds nations? At the end of the struggle, the writer encourages women to be themselves by achieving their ambitions while maintaining the role of motherhood, because "ultimately, instinct prevails."
