Lactic acid 10% + HA is an alpha hydroxy acid solution that provides effective exfoliation targeting the skin surface. Lactic acid has a pKa of 3.8, and pKa is the most important side to consider when formulating with acids. PKa means acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an optimal balance between salt and acidity, increasing the effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation. An ideal aqueous serum for dry skin types.
