Euphorbia

Euphorbia is an evergreen plant that blooms abundantly throughout the summer. It has numerous sharp, thin, and long thorns, which is why it is commonly known as the Crown of Thorns, Christ Thorn, or Christ's Crown.

In Thailand, this plant is believed to bring good luck, and it is said that the more flowers it produces, the more luck it brings. For this reason, it is very popular there and is carefully maintained.

The plant can grow to more than 1 meter in height. It has beautiful green, oval-shaped leaves, and its flowers come in stunning colors such as red, yellow, white, beige, and pink. The flowers appear in clusters at the terminal tips of the plant.

It is ideal for decorating balconies and windows and can tolerate heat and direct sunlight.

How to Care for Your Euphorbia

Euphorbia is an easy-care plant. It needs a location with high light levels where it can receive some gentle sunlight. Flowering indoor plants generally require more light and sunlight than non-flowering indoor plants.

It prefers moderate temperatures between 18–24°C and can tolerate cooler temperatures during winter down to 10°C.

The soil should be light and well-draining, as the plant is highly sensitive to excess water and poor drainage. Overwatering or poor drainage can quickly cause the plant to lose its leaves and flowers.

Euphorbia is drought-tolerant, so it is best to water it thoroughly and then wait until the soil has dried completely before watering again.

During the growing season, fertilize the Euphorbia once a month with a liquid NPK fertilizer to encourage more abundant flowering and enhance the plant's overall appearance.

Finally, it is recommended to grow Euphorbia in a medium-sized, shallow pot, as it does not have a large root system. This also helps maintain a more attractive appearance.
