From the دار "الظاهرية" for publishing and distribution in Kuwait, the book "Rawa' al-Ghaleel in the Literature of Migration and Departure" was recently published by Kuwaiti critic Dr. Barak Al-Qa'id. The book sheds light on the topics of "Migration and Departure" in Arabic literature, taking as study material the two novels "Season of Migration to the North" by Sudanese novelist Tayeb Salih, and "Majma' Aziz" by Saudi writer Abdulaziz Al-Jassim. The author aims to "present an advanced image of systematic Arabic criticism, far from academic theoretical issues that do not practically apply to the subject of criticism, as he adopts a general analytical approach accompanied by artistic research into literary techniques that contribute to building literary quality in novel works." He calls for "changing the theoretical critical method used to critique literary works, and moving away from what he called (journalistic criticism) which focuses on critical theories without concern for how to apply them to the text," noting that "the critic's work in supporting the literary movement and extracting the most important literary works is what will highlight these works and produce a new literary scene." The book consists of three chapters, each containing several sections that study literary elements, techniques, and artistic methods, along with a detailed discussion of the topics of migration and departure.
