This is a kind message in its meaning, easy in its style, connected in its purposes, few pages, abundant in its knowledge, in which Ibn Al-Qayyim (Alauddin?) encourages the teaching of good, and advising everyone he meets, and explains the effects resulting from neglecting الدعوة and التعليم, mentioning among them: the nullification of barakah, corruption of the heart, and heedlessness. Then he explains the effects of heedlessness when combined with following desires. He briefly discusses the blessings upon those who are blessed after talking about their opposite, whose hearts are heedless, and shows the need of the servant for guidance from nine aspects. Then he talks about the noblest types of guided ones, those who ask their Lord to make them imams to be guided by them (وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَاماً) [Al-Furqan: 74], and explains the four ways through which this imamate can be attained. The author then takes you to a transition to explain an issue: that every person strives for what brings him pleasure and bliss, and ward off what opposes that, and he lists six matters without which pleasure is not complete, and clarifies the state of many people regarding them. He emphasizes that complete pleasure and good living are only in knowing Allah, His monotheism, intimacy with Him, longing to meet Him, and the unity of heart and concern for it. He supports this by the fact that prayer has made the eye comfort of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then the author delights and entertains you by mentioning the six scenes of prayer, which, if gathered in a servant's prayer, will bring him the eye comfort and heart's rest. He concludes his message by stating that the key to this matter consists of four things: a sincere intention, high strength, desire, and awe.
