Product description

The issue of the validity of the interpretation of the Salaf is considered one of the most important thorny issues in our intellectual heritage. This study aims to address this issue through a discussion of one of the most prominent scholars who defended it and established its necessity, which is Ibn Taymiyyah - may Allah have mercy on him. Despite the numerous studies that have addressed this issue in Ibn Taymiyyah's work, this study differs fundamentally from them in clarifying the foundational premises of Ibn Taymiyyah's stance regarding the validity of the interpretation of the Salaf, and consequently in understanding and evaluating this position. It also delves into the realm of Ibn Taymiyyah's rationality to explore how these premises and motivations originated and were shaped, as well as the effects they produced in Ibn Taymiyyah's discourse. The hope is to stimulate research activity around the interpretive dimensions of addressing the issue of the validity of the Salaf's interpretation, the necessity of examining the framework of understanding and interpretation in the heritage, and to outline a research path to overcome the issues raised by this study in this regard.
