The guiding approach in interpreting the cosmic Quranic verses

This study aims to clarify the meaning of the guiding approach in interpretation, the circumstances that led to it, its prominent proponents, and its scientific and methodological content. It also explains the definition of cosmic verses and the motives for guidance within them. Then, it discusses the most important interpretations that adopted the guiding approach. This thesis reveals the methods of deriving those Quranic guidances, as well as the general and specific controls governing this approach. It is an attempt to establish a specific scientific methodology for the guiding approach, preserving it from distorting words from their contexts. It also clarifies the relationship between the guiding approach and other interpretive approaches, as the guiding interpretation is the fruit that every interpreter hopes for. The methodology of this thesis is based on two sides: a theoretical foundational side and an applied side supported by practical examples from interpretation books, both old and new. The features of this research have crystallized through analyzing this approach from general interpretation books and those interested in studying this approach specifically, then analyzing those texts to produce a comprehensive vision that combines theoretical knowledge and the derivation led by practical study. This way, we identify what the guiding interpreter cannot do without. The study concluded with a set of results, most notably: that the guiding interpreter is capable of harnessing all types of sciences that any interpreter cannot do without, without diverting from the main goal of divine guidance for humans. The guiding approach in interpretation works to correct the beliefs, worship, dealings, and conduct of people. Cosmic verses are a fertile field for highlighting Quranic guidances that call for the righteousness of the servants.
