Product description
The purpose of composing this book is to introduce this ancient valley located in the heart of Sarawat Al-Hejaz, between the Two Holy Mosques, with its history and civilization, which was distinguished by its abundant water and springs, and the many palm trees. At that time, it was a food basket for its people and for everyone who visited from nearby cities and villages, and the tribes in Hejaz and Najd who came during the summer season for the date harvest and enjoyed its blessings, drinking from its pure springs. And to also introduce the esteemed reader to the history of the valleys and lands of the Makhlef tribe, and some of its customs, traditions, laws, norms, heritage, and folk legacy; through studying historical texts and authentic documents I obtained, or from information recorded by elders about social life and geographical locations. Especially since this blessed valley — Wadi Khadra — has not found anyone to write about its history and document it in a special book, unlike other valleys and lands in the Hejaz region. It is my duty, as I see it, to clarify the history of this land and the civilization our ancestors lived in within that valley, for future generations to learn about the history of their ancestors and their lives in those times and ages.
