The best companion is the explanation of the precious ruby in the school of Ibn Idris

This book has been written for me by Allah, and it is due to His grace and favor that I share and contribute — even though in truth I am nothing but a humble interloper — in composing pearls from this overflowing ocean (Islamic jurisprudence) through this concise, beneficial summary (the precious ruby), for the virtue of the esteemed Imam, the noble scholar Ahmad ibn Umar Al-Shatiri, may Allah have mercy on him. And this was not out of a prior desire I wished for or a goal I aimed at, but it was Allah Almighty's will that drove me to it. And the encourager and motivator was the virtue of Sheikh: Othman Al-Nada Al-Mashhadani, who insisted on me most insistently and did not accept any apology from me, despite my sincere apology to him due to my engagement in some scientific works, most notably the composition of (Minhaj Al-Talibin) by Imam An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy on him, in which I reached the (Radd) chapter. I ask Allah to help me complete it and to teach it at the Prophet's Mosque University. When I saw his overwhelming desire and admired his ambitious zeal, I responded to his request. So this composition, which I named (The Best Companion), is hoped from Allah to be so, and better than that. I ask Allah to accept it from me by His grace and generosity, and to grant him acceptance among students and those who review, and to benefit them with it as He benefited with its origin. And I do not forget to express gratitude to the virtuous scholars who endorsed this composition. I ask Allah to reward them abundantly and to benefit by what they have said.
