Dar Soad Al-Sabah for Publishing and Distribution gathered the winners of the Soad Al-Sabah Award for Intellectual Creativity for the years 2016 and 2017 in an elegant and large book titled "History of Radio Kuwait," and through 665 pages of large format, the book documents in a smooth manner the journey of Kuwaiti broadcasting.
The book "History of Radio in Kuwait" begins with an introduction written by Dr. Soad Al-Sabah, in which she points to the beginning of the Kuwaiti radio journey at 7 PM on May 12, 1951. It was through a small room affiliated with the police and public security building, headed by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Mubarak, who took over the presidency of Kuwaiti radio until 1960. At that time, Mubarak Al-Miyal first launched the phrase "Here is Kuwait," and the other employee with him at the radio was Hamad Al-Mu'min.
Then comes the foreword of the publisher, Ali Al-Masoudi, confirming that Kuwaiti radio left its mark on successive generations, and that it contributed to shaping Kuwait's identity. He describes Kuwaiti radio as being a pioneer in the Gulf region and producing prominent names that served as educational media schools.
