Side effects: At normal oxibenzoxazide doses, cows may show mild diarrhea with increased frequency of defecation and transient loss of appetite. Rarely, signs of ataxia, incoordination, and recumbency may appear in animals. Care should be taken to avoid practices that increase the risk of development of depression. Additionally, rarely, sheep may show allergic reactions such as long-lasting edema under the lower jaw, ear flap edema, and head swelling. In case of such reactions—low doses, which may be due to weight loss, poor product administration, or a malfunction of the dosing device (if available)—appropriate treatment should be given without delay. These reactions can develop into more severe hypersensitivity reactions, and for more information, see the leaflet. They may be life-threatening. Special precautions for disposal of unused products or waste materials: The frequency of adverse reactions is indicated by the following term: Rare, more than 1 but less than 10 animals out of 10,000 treated animals. Any unused veterinary medicinal product or waste derived from these veterinary medicinal products should be disposed of according to national requirements. Date of last approval of the label: Target animals: Cattle and sheep. Dosage per animal and method of administration: Doses should be given via a suitable vaccination device, at a rate of 7.5 mg/kg of levamisole hydrochloride and 15 mg/kg of body weight. Other information: It is only given with a veterinary prescription. Oxibenzoxazide, equivalent to 2.5 ml per 10 kg of body weight in cattle and 0.5 ml per 2 kg of body weight in sheep. Recommendation for method of use: Shake the container well before use to ensure the two active ingredients are thoroughly mixed, so animals receive the correct dose. To ensure an accurate dose, body weight should be measured as precisely as possible: Ensure the dosing device is accurate. Administer the dose according to the individual animal’s weight, not based on the weight of the heavier animals.
