Product description

Can a nation/state have most of its citizens employed living in the capital in government or private offices? And can a person become crazy in love while on the verge of retirement? And can a routine employee become a poet? Those are paradoxes of the novel (The Truce) crafted by the author as intimate daily life sketches of Mr. Santomi, in which he documents the lives of employees, who make up most of the middle class in Uruguay, and the frustrations they face. And this Santomi is the one who ignited love, the fire of life in a heart that almost extinguished all life within it. Also, this love is what introduced movement and life into the novel, without which life would have left it. The events of (The Truce) take place in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, Mocondu, Binediti, where half of the country's population resides. It is a paradox of Latin America that its revolutionaries and novelists, with their abilities, managed to place their country at the center of world historical events after it was on the margins.
