Christmas party

Ashley Smith, an American student at the College of Arts in London in her first year, plans to spend Christmas alone, but a last-minute invitation from her classmate Emma Chapman brought her to Starfwood Hall—the country house of the Chapman family. This house, decorated with pine branches and crowded with guests during the Christmas week, is a dream come true for Ashley. She is captivated by the cozy home lit by fireplace fires, the large family, and the charming village of Clevmore, but she also becomes fascinated with Adam Chapman, Emma's reserved and handsome twin brother. However, the local police are investigating Adam regarding the recent brutal murder of a girl from the village, and there is a mysterious stranger who lingers along the forest path between Starfwood Hall and the local pub. Ashley begins to wonder about the kind of story she is truly living. Is it a great love story? Or a Gothic tale? Or is she wandering into something more evil and terrifying than she imagined? After more than three decades, the events of that horrific week resurface once again, accompanied by diaries from that era. What began in a small English village in 1989 reaches its ghostly conclusion in modern New York, after many Christmas seasons have passed.
