Autel PowerScan PS100 Generation Description: Autel PowerScan PS100 is the best electrical test to reduce diagnostic time in all vehicle electrical systems 6- to 30 volts. After simple connection from the tool to the car battery, you can: 1. Determine at a glance if the circuit is positive or negative or open without needing to reconnect clips from one battery column to another. 2. Test for continuity with the built-in extra ground lead. 3. By pressing the power button, perform a positive or negative battery current to the investigation terminal to test an electrical component function without using jumper wires. 4. Test for poor ground contacts immediately without conducting voltage drop tests. The tool also has overload protection. The internal circuit breaker will trip if overloaded. 5. Follow and locate short circuits without wasting fuses. The long cable of the tool allows testing along the entire vehicle without constantly searching for the cause of the problem. Autel PowerScan PS100 Features: Performs all types of service including power injection, measurement, ground testing, polarity checking, continuity testing, and component activation. The easy-to-read AVmeter allows you to read voltage, current, and resistance at the probe tip with the face of the power switch, you have a hot/ground lead for activating electrical components like cooling fans, switches, etc. It uses both the hot lead and ground lead simultaneously to directly activate components in your hand. Instantly identifies positive, negative, and open circuits. Tests poor ground contacts immediately, allowing you to quickly follow and locate shorts without wasting fuses. Built-in protected circuit breaker with flashlight enables work in darkness. The sound tone indicator allows scrolling through the list without looking once users are familiar with the task. The 20ft (extendable) cable provides excellent access for testing along the vehicle. Very easy to use and highly reliable. Autel PowerScan PS100 Operating Modes: There are four modes for diagnosing electrical systems, accessible by pressing the mode button and cycling through each. DC Voltage: While in this mode, connect the investigation terminal to the circuit, then the LCD will read the DC voltage with a resolution of 0.1 volts. AC Voltage: While in this mode, connect the investigation terminal to the circuit, then the LCD will read the maximum AC voltage, accurate. Frequency, duty cycle. Resistance: While in this mode, connect the investigation terminal to the circuit, then the LCD will read the resistance between the probe and the auxiliary ground lead. On/Off tone operation: While in this mode, just a quick press on the mode button to toggle the tone or turn it off. During quick pressing (quick press and release) the mode button, if a high short sound is heard, it means the tone is on. If a low short sound is heard, the tone is off. This feature is invaluable when working in bright areas where LED lighting alone is not enough. The sound feature can be turned off if desired, such as in applications where the tool will be connected to circuits for long periods and the sound may become annoying. Is the PowerScan investigation test device computer and airbag safe? The LED tool and LCD screen draw no more than 1 milliampere of current, so when used as a test light or multimeter from the computer and airbag pad, it is safe. However, pressing the power button is a different story. When pressing the button forward, you conduct full battery current to the investigation terminal. There is a nice safety feature built into the device. Just connect the additional ground lead to the device and press the power button forward until the circuit breaker trips. This will prevent power from going to the terminal but still allow you to use the device as a multimeter. When away from computer components, simply press the reset button and you are ready to operate again. 2. Why is there no power at the terminal when pressing the power button forward but the red LED is on? The power switch passes through a set. It is one of the few things that can go wrong with the device. The switch is a consumable that needs replacing sometimes. We made it really simple — not only to change it but also to buy a new switch. The switch can be cut and replaced in seconds. You can buy switches from your authorized Autel supplier. The device with the rocker switch openings makes it easy to replace the faulty switch in the field without needing to send it in for repair.
