There are no condolences for them The Unconsoled is the second novel for Nobel laureate 2017 Kazuo Ishiguro. after his first novel The Remains of The Day. this novel was published in 1995, and its Arabic translation was issued by the National Center for Translation in 2005. one of the most important factors that motivated me to translate this novel is the strange atmosphere it contains. the confusing world, which resembles an unconnected dream. the well-known musician Raed travels to a city in Central Europe to perform one of his musical compositions at a large music concert in the coming days. and although the events take place at a certain point in time in the twentieth century, the spatiotemporal setting of the events appears in an ambiguous, undisclosed horizon. the novel is also considered the longest of Ishiguro's entire works, and yet it narrates events of only a few days. the Kafkaesque atmosphere is also one of the dominant elements in the plot of "There are no condolences for them". -translator
