The buried giant

A long time ago, an important event happened, a terrible massacre followed by a terrifying spell, which robbed humans of their memories and buried the past with all its parts, to dominate a fragile peace and an enduring fog. Until the day came when an old couple decided to leave their dark burrow to search for their lost son and their stolen memories. Those wounds caused by one to the other healed slowly, but did they heal forever? Was their great love able to withstand the passing years if the doves hadn't stolen their memories? Or is forgetfulness a blessing for humans and nations? The answers will not only shake their love or even the concept of "eternal love," but also the fate of a nation, which after a long slumber will witness the awakening of the instincts of hatred, revenge, and justice. The giant has been buried for a long time, but no matter how deep his burial is, he will inevitably wake up. An amazing and enchanting novel about a problematic and mysterious era in England's history, woven skillfully by Ishiguro with threads of fantasy and intertwined reality.
