Product description
I dreamed one day that I was telling stories, and I felt someone patting my foot encouraging me, so I looked down to see myself standing on the shoulders of an old woman who was fixing my ankle, and she was looking up and smiling. I said to her: No, no, come up, stand on my shoulders because you are old and I am still young. She insisted: No, no, that is not how it should be. I looked to find that she was standing on the shoulders of an elderly woman older than her, who in turn was standing on the shoulders of a larger woman, who was standing on the shoulders of a shrouded woman, who was standing on the shoulders of a ghost of a woman, who was standing on the shoulders of... That was the old dream that the American storyteller and psychoanalyst Clarissa Pinkola, of Spanish, Mexican, and adopted Hungarian origins, saw. It is also the dream that Pinkola embodied in her unique book, which represents the pinnacle of female creativity, "Women Who Run with the Wolves." The first Arabic edition was published in 2005, translated beautifully by writer and translator Mustafa Mahmoud, by the Egyptian General Authority for Books - Family Library. After the overwhelming success it achieved and the profound influence it left on Egyptian women writers and creators, subsequent editions were published, including a second edition by the National Center for Translation, and a modern edition by Dar Afaq for Publishing in Cairo.
