All the dead are named Yahya

The novel narrates the story of the woodcutter (Dawar).. that strange old man, whom all the villagers fear and reject, Dawar lives with his wife (Leel) and six children; the eldest of whom is (Yahya).. those children lose one after another under different circumstances; one is buried by the flood, another is drowned, and so on. As he ages, the Lord grants him a final son named (Mandel).. In this part of the novel, the author evokes the story of the Prophet (Zakariya) and his son (Yahya) and expresses it through high symbolism indicating the nobility of the author's pen and his wonderful style in harnessing reality with eloquent literary imagination. The novel ends in a surreal and surprising manner at the same time, in which the author places his great narrative capabilities to a major test, and again uses the style of symbolism by recalling other stories and events with deep historical and religious significance. We can only describe this novel as the best produced by Persian literature, rich with eloquent literary works, and it is enough that it is the conclusion of the literary works written by (Maroufi), after which he decided to stop writing and publishing.
