Product description: Hidrasec is a medicine for treating diarrhea. Hidrasec is used to treat symptoms of acute diarrhea in children over three months old. It should be used with the intake of large amounts of fluids and usual dietary measures, when these measures are not sufficiently effective on their own to control diarrhea, and when causal treatment of diarrhea is not possible. Usage instructions: Always give Hidrasec to your child exactly as your doctor has told you. You should consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. Hidrasec is provided in the form of granules. The granules should be added to food or mixed with water in a bottle or baby bottle. Mix well and give immediately to your child. The recommended daily dose depends on your child's weight: 1.5 mg/kg per dose (equivalent to 1 to 2 sachets), three times daily at regular intervals. For infants up to 9 kg: one sachet per dose. For infants weighing 9-13 kg: two sachets per dose. Your doctor will tell you how long the treatment with Hidrasec should continue. It should be continued until your child has two normal stools, not exceeding 7 days. To compensate for fluid loss due to your child's diarrhea, this medical product should be used with appropriate replacement of fluids and salts (electrolytes). The best fluid and electrolyte replacement is achieved using what is called oral rehydration solution (please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure). Warnings and precautions: Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before giving Hidrasec to your child if: Your child is under three months old, There is blood or pus in your child's stool, and/or your child has a fever. The cause of diarrhea may be a bacterial infection that your doctor needs to treat, Your child has chronic diarrhea or diarrhea caused by antibiotics, Your child has kidney disease or liver function impairment, Your child has prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting, Your child has diabetes (see 'Important information about some ingredients in Hidrasec'). Skin reactions have been reported with this product. These are mostly mild to moderate. In case of severe skin reactions, treatment should be stopped immediately. Other medicines and Hidrasec: Please inform your doctor if your child is using, has recently used, or might use any other medicines. Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Hidrasec is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Driving and operating machinery: Hidrasec has little or no effect on the ability to drive and use machines. Hidrasec contains sucrose: Hidrasec contains about 1 gram of sucrose per sachet. If your doctor has told you that your child has a sugar intolerance, ask your doctor before giving Hidrasec to your child. For infants with diabetes, if the doctor has prescribed more than 5 sachets of Hidrasec per day (which is more than 5 grams of sucrose), this should be taken into account in the child's total daily sugar intake.
