Description

Solotik 50 mg – Sertraline – 30 Film-Coated Tablets

Solotik 50 mg is a prescription medicine containing Sertraline 50 mg, supplied as sertraline hydrochloride, in each film-coated tablet.

Sertraline belongs to a class of antidepressants known as Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs).

It is used to treat major depressive disorder and several anxiety-related psychiatric conditions, depending on the approved indication and clinical assessment.

Sertraline works by inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin in the brain, increasing serotonin availability between nerve cells.

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in mood regulation and emotional processing.

Solotik may be prescribed for major depressive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder, subject to local prescribing approval.

The full therapeutic benefit is not immediate. Some symptoms may begin to improve within the first few weeks, while a fuller response can take several weeks.

Solotik must be used under medical supervision and should not be stopped abruptly.

Pack Size: 30 Film-Coated Tablets.

Active Ingredient & Mechanism of Action

Sertraline

Strength: 50 mg per tablet.

Salt Form: Sertraline Hydrochloride.

Drug Class: Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI).

Mechanism of Action:

Sertraline inhibits the serotonin transporter responsible for serotonin reuptake into nerve cells.

This increases serotonin availability in the synaptic space.

Together with gradual neurobiological adaptations during treatment, this effect helps reduce symptoms of depression and certain anxiety disorders.

Sertraline is not an immediate-acting sedative or a rapid treatment for an acute anxiety attack.
