On history, Tarek Ali and Oliver Stone are talking

From the introduction of Tariq Ali to the book: Oliver asked me if we could meet to discuss his ambitious project to create a documentary series titled "The Unknown History of the United States." After a month, we met in Los Angeles. And he explained to me the reason he believed this project was very necessary. He told me that there is a sharp lack of information among the people about their past. After that, he conducted with me a filmed interview lasting seven hours, with short breaks for drinking water. Some of my books were beside him, filled with notes and marks. The experience was thought-provoking and active, and completely free of depression or agitation. His mission was clear, and he went on to carry it out. The result of that meeting — with some aesthetic editing — is this book that we place in your hands.
