Author's name: Razan Al Essa Publisher: Rashm Publishing and Distribution Year of publication: 2024 Literary classification: Biographies and Memoirs Book summary: Yes, I and you "from them" The lights of modernity intertwine with the rich history in the heart of Riyadh city where Maryam, the young writer, sits in a small café to think about documenting her memoirs to appear as one of the women who witnessed the social transformations of Saudi women in recent years. The writer captures a journey of suffering and marginalization shared by women, then they were able to overcome it after a bitter societal and family struggle in which they faced astonishing confrontations starting from their narrow surroundings to broader societal laws. Maryam found that her journey in writing is not just memoirs, but a platform to express the experiences of many women; so she was determined to continue her project, and she promised herself to voice her voice freely, and to write without restrictions. So will Maryam's story be a mirror to change? Will she succeed in expressing the suffering of one of the women who fought for freedom? Thus, the heroine began her journey as a writer; breaking the barrier of customs and ready to embrace her feminine identity, saying: "Yes, I am a woman, and I will not be ashamed to write about women's experiences. My writing will reflect all those feelings and ideas, and I will not be forced to diminish my identity."
