Hayy Al-Dahsha by Maha Hassan ... "Dahsha is a treasure hidden in Aleppo," this is what one of the heroines of the novel says. In her work, Maha Hassan tries to bring this Dahsha through writing and memories to redraw Aleppo and its old popular neighborhoods, and the rituals of living there, the simplicity of its people, and their small dreams, before the war came and destroyed all of this along its way. Relying on a unique technique inspired by the titles of Arabic and international novels for the chapter titles, the heroes of Hayy Al-Dahsha tell their story from "Zarqa's Dream" and "Beirut's Nightmares" to the house of "The Sleeping Beauties." It is a story about love, childhood memories, intentional killing, emotional placenta, and the role of literature in our lives.
