Author's name: Francis Darwinar Publisher: Al-Ahliya for Publishing and Distribution Year of publication: 2015 Literary classification: History and Politics Brief about the book: This book addresses the relationship between the colonizer and the colonized, in how to ignite the revolution from below, and to preserve it from the manipulations of colonialism and the local elites subordinate to it. Although Franz Fanon wrote it for African and Asian liberation revolutions from old colonialism, what has happened, in truth, after more than half a century of these revolutions, is that colonial conditions have not changed much. Instead of direct military colonialism with enormous material and human costs, local colonialism has replaced it, which is less costly and completely subordinate to the forces of previous colonialism, and its cultural, political, and economic interests are linked to it within a framework of narrow national and tribal chauvinist narratives—primarily manufactured by the orientalist knowledge apparatus. For all these reasons, it was important to make this text available for reading and interpretation once again in a historical context, perhaps more difficult than the one in which it was written.
